We are reviving closed sugar mills: Sugarcane Minister Suresh Rana

Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: Our government is reviving the sugar mills that were closed by the previous BSP and SP government, said Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Minister Suresh Rana.

He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of doubling farmers’ income by 2024. To work on this direction, UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated two sugar plants manufacturing sulphur-free sugar at Munderwa and Pipraich sugar mills situated in Basti and Gorakhpur districts respectively on Wednesday.”

Addressing the primary sector technical session through video conferencing, Rana said that there were 51 sugar mills in Purvanchal but 29 sugar mills were closed in the BSP and SP government. It has affected cane growers as well as mill workers. Our government has revived many sugar mills and taking steps to start others as well.
