Bhartiya Kisan Union demands hike in sugarcane price

Afzalgarh, Uttar Pradesh: Bhartiya Kisan Union held a meeting to discuss various issues related to sugarcane farmer. They demanded a hike in sugarcane price up to Rs 450 per quintal and also urged that sugar mills should start operations from October 15.

The organization fights for the rights of the sugarcane farmers.
The BKU has also demanded that the government should take steps to ensure that the sugar mills clear the pending cane arrears.

BKU said, “As the farmers are not having enough funds, they are not able to pay the electricity bills and also not able to meet their daily needs.”
