Bhima Cooperative Sugar Factory Elections : BJP MP Dhananjay Mahadik’s panel victorious

Solapur : The Bhima Cooperative Sugar Factory election was closely eyed to know whether BJP MP Dhananjay Mahadik would achieve a hat-trick or if the opposition candidate would re-enter the factory based on several accusations and controversial claims.

Mahidik’s panel (Bhima Shetkari Vikas Aghadi) threw back Rajan Patil’s defense panel (Bhima Bachav Parivartan Panel) in the first round itself. Out of 19,430 members, 15,323 voters exercised their right to vote for Bhima Karkhana, which has three talukas of Pandharpur, Mangalvedha and Mohol. MP Dhananjay Mahadik’s panel turned victorious with a lead of 6755 votes.

The campaign on both sides was stirred with various questions like factory loans, wages of workers, cane payments, and sugar prices. Later the propaganda by the opposition reached to individual level, which brought heat in Mohol-Pandharpur talukas and caught quite much attention of district residents around.

This time’s election has been a prestigious one for Mahadik as his son Vishwaraj Mahadik was contesting in the panel.
