Coronavirus: Former Union Minister asks government to order sugar mills to clear sugarcane dues

New Delhi: After the central government announced a relief package on the backdrop of coronavirus pandemic, former Union Minister Jitin Prasada demanded that the government should order mills to clear the outstanding cane dues of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh.

He has been in home quarantine at his ancestral residence in Shahajahanpur after he attended a party where coronavirus patient Kanika Kapoor was also a guest.

In a tweet, he Prasada, “At present, the country is fighting against Corona and sugar mills have yet not paid sugarcane dues to farmers. The government should order the sugar mill owners to pay the entire dues in a week.”

The coronavirus has affected many countries including India. To combat coronavirus Central and States government are taking all preventive measures. Also, the government has declared the relief package.
