DM warns sugar mills over delay in cane payment

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills failed to meet the previous week’s target of clearing cane dues of around Rs 76 crore. The target was set by the district administration. Out of the set target, mills managed to pay Rs 28.49 crore to the sugarcane farmers.

DM Ramakant Pandey slammed sugar mills, who failed to clear the dues. And warned them that delay in cane payment would not be tolerated.

According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, DM said, “Strict action will be taken against sugar mill officials for non-payment of dues. Mills should take steps to clear pending arrears.”
