Hapur: Brijnathpur sugar mill ends crushing operations, Simbhaoli mill likely to end by March 31

Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Brijnathpur sugar mill concluded the sugarcane crushing session for 2023-24. Around 52.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane have been crushed by sugar mill, reported Amar Ujala.

Compared to last year, the mill has received nearly four lakh quintals less of sugarcane. Similarly, the Simbhaoli sugar mill is also expected to end operations by March 31, as there is now no sugarcane left in the region. The mill has granted farmers the option to supply their remaining sugarcane if they have any.

Last year, around 38,000 hectares of land in the district were used for sugarcane cultivation. The sugar produced in the district primarily goes to the Simbhaoli and Brijnathpur sugar mills. The Brijnathpur sugar mill had previously granted farmers the opportunity to supply sugarcane without slips. Three notices were issued, and March 28 was declared as the final date for mill operations. The session at the mill concluded on Thursday night as scheduled, due to the shortage of sugarcane. However, if any farmer has remaining sugarcane, they can still supply it to the Simbhaoli mill.
