Unit Head of the Sisawa Sugar Mill, Ashutosh Avasthi, said that the mill management has transferred the total amount of Rs 14.5 crore to the bank accounts of the farmers.

He also urged the sugarcane farmers in the area to continue supplying clean, fresh, and root-free sugarcane to the mill.

To prevent accidents in the fog, the mill is running a campaign to get reflector strips fitted on farmers’ vehicles. The mill is also providing necessary traffic safety tips to farmers.

Avasthi said that bonfires have been lit at the mill’s rest stop to provide relief from the cold to drivers who bring sugarcane to the mill at night.
