Uttar Pradesh: Farmers demand hike in sugarcane price to Rs 450 per quintal

Amroha: Members from the Bhartiya Kisan Union Shankar Group submitted a memorandum to the Sugar Minister, Sanjay Singh Gangwar, during his district visit on Wednesday, highlighting the issues and demands of sugarcane farmers, reported Live Hindustan.

The group demanded the announcement of a sugarcane price of Rs. 450 per quintal for the current crushing season. The officials, led by the organisation’s National President, Chaudhary Divakar Singh, pointed out several issues related to the electricity department’s website. They emphasised that consumers are not benefiting from the One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme and urged the immediate rectification of the website.

Expressing discontent with the delayed payment of sugarcane prices, the Members also called for urgent action.
