Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills in Bulandshahr to begin operations in November

Bulandshahar (Uttar Pradesh): All sugar mills in the district will begin operations in November as the state government has released the cane booking and supply policy for the 2025–26 crushing season. Under this, cane booking and the issuance of supply slips for farmers will be carried out. The cane survey has been completed, and the department has started preparing booking records for farmers, reports Amar Ujala.

District Cane Officer Anil Kumar Bharti said that this year sugarcane has been sown on more than 84,000 hectares in the district. As per the new policy issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, priority will be given to small and women farmers. Farmers with small holdings (81 quintals) will receive slips for ratoon cane between the first and third slots, while slips for plant cane will be allotted between the seventh and ninth slots. For marginal farmers (36 quintals), 100 percent of ratoon cane slips will be issued in the first slot.

Bharti further informed that starting November, the district’s sugar mills will crush 2.20 lakh quintals of cane per day. Of this, Sabitgarh mill will crush 90,000 quintals daily, Wave Sugar Mill 35,000 quintals, Anupshahr 25,000 quintals, and Agauta mill 70,000 quintals. Cane slips will be allotted to farmers based on their crop type and acreage.

He added that soon, the sugar mills will be given crushing targets and detailed instructions for smooth operations.
