Vivek Waghmode has 17 years of experience in print and online media. He has worked with newspapers like Indian Express and The Times of India as a principal correspondent. As a reporter, he has covered a series of stories on health infrastructure, politics, crime, education, agriculture, environment, gender issues and cooperative and rural-urban development. Apart from reporting he has conducted a series of workshops for the students of the journalism department in Shivaji University as well as other colleges in the Sangli and Kolhapur districts. He has qualified SET and has a brief experience of teaching at Shivaji University. He is also pursuing PhD with Shivaji University in the Journalism and Mass Communication department. Currently, he is working as a freelance content creator for various news websites like Chinimandi.com. Before that he was working as a principal correspondent with The Times of India, Kolhapur and was heading the bureau. He holds a Master’s degree in journalism and communication and has researched and studied various aspects related to media. He was in a leadership and coordinating role as a head of the bureau and held responsibilities including ideating and clearing copies filed by reporters. He has participated in the Google News Initiative India training network's train the trainer boot camp held in Mumbai in December 2018 and has been trained in fact-checking and verification. He has conducted a series of workshops related to Fact-checking for fellow journalists and Journalism students from South Maharashtra.
